Milk✔ eggs✔ new car? Welcome to Walmart
Could your new car come from the same place you get your groceries? Because being able to buy everyday groceries, clothes, home appliances, décor, and more isn’t enough, the answer is yes, you may be able to do just that in the near future. Meet Walmart, the world’s newest dealership.
The car sale program is set to begin on April 1, 2017 at 25 supercenters in Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, and Oklahoma City. According to Business Insider, Walmart is entering a partnership with CarSaver, an automotive website that allows customers to shop around for vehicles, financing options, and insurance. CarSaver will open information centers so customers can shop around as well as make an appointment at local dealerships. Business Insider reports that an appointment leading to a sale earns CarSaver $350.
Costco has a similar program that impressed the CEO of CarSaver. Costco is one of the top car sellers in the nations. In 2015, Costco sold around 460,000 vehicles, which adds up to 1,000 per store. CarSaver expects to match, and eventually surpass, Costco’s sales.
Believe it or not, it seems that the day will come when a quick run to the store could very well turn into buying a brand-new car. When planning your next trip to Walmart, plan your trip wisely – you don’t want your milk to spoil while you are at a kiosk searching for your next ride.
